Single Mother Help – Assistance for Disabled Single Mothers

Disability in single mothers is hard. Aside from the fact that single mothers are left alone to care for their child, the disability has add up to the difficulty. Fortunately, there are already available services and assistance for disabled single mothers. A policy is also created to protect the rights of disabled single mothers as well as protecting them from discrimination at work. This policy is known as the American Disabilities Act. The services and assistance that are provided to disabled single mothers aim to help these mothers to overcome their disability and continue to live life together with their children. Being disabled can either be caused from a physical disability, learning disability, or a mental disability. Based on the Census of the United States of America, approximately forty one million of Americans are disabled. Majority of these disabled people are women, although the welfare reforms continue to push disabled single mothers to work. Services are provided to Disabled Single Mothers came from TANF and SSIUsually, the average income for an individual who is not disabled would be $22,000; however, a person with a disability would only earn approximately $12,000. Studies have found out that single mothers who are receiving assistance from the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families or TANF are disabled single mothers or mothers who have a disabled child. However, since the reform of the welfare programs, fewer disabled single mothers are getting help from TANF. Aside from that, the Social Security Income that also provides additional assistance to the disabled single mothers has set strict standards and criteria, lessening the number of its beneficiaries. Services provided by the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families or TANF would involve case management. This includes application of services from the Social Security Income for the disabled single mother. However, not all caseworkers who are handling the cases for disabled single mothers are aware of these services causing denial of application. The rates of applicants being denied are very high and alarming. The government took action last February 2009 when the National Council for State Legislatures has proposed that the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families office and the Social Security Income office should work together so that everything will work well. However, disabled single mothers need to know that the federal law does not allow approval of both services at the same time. One of the services provided by the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families is to refer the disabled single mothers to the Department of Labor, specifically on the One Stop Career Center. Disabled single mothers would be able to know which career and fields would be suitable for them to earn money even with the disability. There are also single mother programs that will be referred by One Stop to help disabled single mothers. Aside from that, single mother subsidies will also be provided to ensure that the child will receive proper care and nutrition. Keep in mind that services for disabled single mothers can vary from one state to another. The disabled single mother can check on the local social service agency so that she can check out the lists of services provided in a state. Testing and Screening Disabled Single Mothers with Learning DisabilitiesThe single mother and welfare reform programs have not recognized the existence of mothers with learning disabilities. Not until the recent times, screening learning disabilities are done to check the extent of the learning disability of the mother and to check whether the mother is capable of working even with the learning disability. If the case of the disability is just subtle, then the disabled single mother can undergo educational programs or vocational courses that can help her in getting a work. Studies have found out that if the learning disability is recognized, then the chances of being successful are possible. Many agencies can actually provide various services that a disabled single mother can utilize. There are single mother scholarships that are being offered for single mothers with learning disabilities. They can actually benefit from these scholarship programs because it offers various courses and trainings for handicapped women. Aside from that, if the disabled single mother can no longer support her child, there are single mother adoption options that a single mother can inquire.

Can I Become a Surrogate Mother if My Tubes are Tied?

This is a very common question when it comes to gestational surrogacy. In fact, when I was just starting out my research into becoming a surrogate mother, this was the very first question I had.
I started to consider surrogacy five years after my last child was born. I had had a tubal ligation at her birth, and was under the mistaken impression that having my tubes tied was an automatic disqualification when it came to surrogacy.
Luckily, I could not have been more wrong. I have since delivered three children via surrogacy; twins and a singleton boy. So can women who have had their tubes tied become surrogates?
The short answer is yes, you can become a gestational carrier if you have had your tubes tied. But, unless you are willing to undergo surgery or an IVF procedure anyway, you cannot become a traditional surrogate mother if you have had a tubal ligation.
First, lets talk about the difference between gestational surrogacy and traditional surrogacy. Both are very common in the United States.
Gestational surrogacy is where the gestational carrier or surrogate mother will carry a baby she is not biologically related to. The eggs of the mother (or in some cases the eggs of an egg donor) and the sperm of the father are combined and implanted into the womb of the surrogate via an IVF procedure.
Since there is no biological connection to the child or children, there is no need for the surrogate mother’s ovaries to be a factor in the situation at all. A woman with her tubes tied can easily and without question become a gestational carrier.
With traditional surrogacy, a surrogate is donating her eggs to the process. She is impregnated via artificial insemination with the sperm of the intended father, and is the biological mother of the surrogate baby.
Since her eggs are needed with traditional surrogacy, it is very difficult to proceed with this type of surrogate arrangement for those who have had a tubal ligation. It would be very expensive and time consuming.
The best option for those who have had their tubes tied is unquestionably gestational surrogacy. In fact, agencies, clinics and intended parents prefer a gestational carrier who has previously had a tubal ligation.
Why? Because there is virtually no chance that the surrogate mother will unintentionally become pregnant with her own child while cycling to become pregnant via IVF with the intended parent’s child. Though rare, this does occur in some situations where surrogates who do not have their tubes tied break rules and regulations pertaining to embryo transfer.
So if you have had your tubes tied and are considering surrogacy, feel confident that not only will this not pose a problem, but you will be sought after as a gestational carrier.

Single Mother Help – Financial Assistance Programs that will help a Mother raise her Child

Programs that will provide financial assistance to single mothers are widely available. These programs also vary depending on the type of the assistance needed. Usually, these financial assistance programs are provided by the government. When the mother is aided, the child will also be helped.Financial assistance programs for single mothers are definitely a relief. Even mothers who are working on a full time would be able to receive help from these programs. This would be very helpful especially in times of medical emergencies where there are no sufficient funds. In general, the safety and security of the child is always the number one priority of the parent. How Help is Provided to Single Mothers by the Department of Social ServicesFor single mothers who need help, the first place to go would be the County Department of Social Services. Typically, the Department of Social Services will provide financial assistance to needy single mothers. For full time single mothers there are a lot of available single mother support groups. These support groups are helpful in giving a healthy support system for women. Single mothers can ask for help from the Department of Social Services about these single mother support groups and they will be the one to refer you to the support groups. Those single mothers who are earning 200% beyond the poverty level can even qualify for the program. Other assistance programs do not even have any income limits, allowing any single mother to apply. The federal HEAP program which provides heating assistance has strict standard qualifications that need to be met. The heating assistance program is applicable during the winter season and would typically provide grants needed for the heating expenses. On the other hand, cooling expenses are also provided. For a stable and steady employment for single mothers, there are single mother welfare programs that can be utilized. Usually, these single mother welfare programs provide subsidies through offering child care and housing. This way, a single mother would not have to worry about who will take care of her child while she is looking for a job. How Help is Provided to the Children of Single Mothers by the Federal and State Funding It is known for a fact that formula for feeding infants is very expensive. Aside from that, formula feeding is a part of the expenses of being a single mother. Good thing, the WIC provides assistance to single mothers in the form of providing cereal and formula coupons for the babies. Aside from that, food stamps are also provided for single mothers. Usually, community centers have their own food and clothing pantries. The best way to know about these assistance programs would be to contact a local church so that referrals can be provided. These programs would provide assistance for the basic necessities of the child and the single mother. As for the insurance of children, the state health insurance programs are providing discounted health expenses or even free health insurance. Medicaid covers both the medical as well as the dental expenses for the child and the single mother. Aside from medical and dental expenses, transportation for check-ups is also covered by Medicaid if in case the single mother doesn’t have a car. Utilizing the available help for single mothers would be a great help for the children especially in emergency cases.

Is “surrogate mother” Against Our Conventional Morality?

It is said that a woman enjoys her happiest moment when she is in wedding dress or is a mother-to-be! We have no idea how the “surrogate” will feel when they deliver the baby. They may feel excited about the surrogate fee. With more and more novel things in modern society, it may be the “underlying rule” of the society, or the start of the degeneration, no one knows!

It may be the current state of the society, which is not a big fuss. You will be out if you are shocked at this. The women who don’t preserve their moral integrity, give their human body, sustain by delivering babies, which is the start of degeneration. It doesn’t matter. Each takes what he wants. Zhou Yu beats Huang Gai, one would like to beat and the other wants to get beat!

Surrogate we mean, that is having a baby by abdominal, it refers to the action, which the female who is volunteers, or receive money at the expense, make an acceptance of others commission to have children for the commissioning party.

As a matter of fact, the emergence of “surrogate mother” comes from two aspects. On the one hand, there are certain needs on the market about “surrogate mother”. On the other hand, it doesn’t represent that this action is observed by our conventional morality. Once “surrogate mother” is marked clearly the prices of the commodities, it is not doubt that they make the lady’s body as a naked exchange and it is sadness that warm relationship becomes a cold exchange. These runs counter to the moral evaluation criteria at our present stage. Furthermore, Surrogacy triggered a series of social problems. If Surrogate mothers and commissioning parties have feeling in the process of giving birth to a child, so it will pose a huge threat for legitimate marriage and family.

All in all, while women’s Womb maybe rented, are we from the “human flesh supermarket” days still far away? Therefore, I suggest that the relevant departments should make legal guidelines for such behavior as soon as possible.

Young Mom Can’t Work – Income Insurance Brings Single Mothers Help

Income insurance is often the last type of coverage on anybody’s mind. This is even more so true for single working moms who have a world of concerns to address every day. Career moms, however, can have a real problem if they suddenly can’t work due to illness or injury. When the paycheck stops, life can change very quickly.

Dr. Carrie Birdwell is a single mom and practicing obstetrician with a thriving practice. Her 9 year old daughter attends a local grade school and plays soccer in the local league. Dr. Birdwell was sidelined with pancreatitis last year and was unable to work for over five months, during which her practice was closed.

I still don’t know how I got pancreatitis. says Dr. Birdwell. It almost exclusively occurs in people who drink heavily and I don’t drink at all!

The severity of the illness kept Dr. Birdwell off her feet for months, during which she had to send patients to other doctors.  I had no income from the practic literally zero. Luckily, my income insurance kicked in after 60 days and I started receiving checks from the policy.

Dr. Birdwell carried short-term and long-term income insurance (also called disability insurance). Her policy paid $6,000 per month.  What a Godsend. I was having to dip into savings for everything from groceries to my daughter’s dance classes and to hire a car to take me back and forth to the doctor each week.

Statistics show that 1 in 3 American workers will miss work for at least 90 consecutive days due to illness or injury. 1 in 5 will be out for over a year. Without income insurance, all expenses, including the monthly mortgage, come directly out of savings.

A recent study revealed that nearly half of all foreclosures are the direct result of the owner not being physically or mentally able to work. Once the savings are gone, the house is next, and from there financial ruin.

Income insurance can be the fallback position that gets you through a tough time. Individual policies, on average, cover up to 60% of your income and potentially more. Coverage can be written to provide benefits to business owners until their regular income returns to normal, not just until they are able to return to work. Numerous other options are available depending on your occupation.

My short term policy paid for the first 6 months while I wasn’t even able to work. My long-term policy kicked in after that and paid for another 6 months until the practice was up and going again and my take home pay got back on track, comments Dr. Birdwell.

Supplemental income insurance can plug the many holes commonly found in employer-sponsored group coverage. Such coverage usually protects up to 60% of your income, however, benefits are taxed as regular wages, lowering your take home to roughly 42%. Group policies are also riddled with exceptions and exclusions that limit benefits and even exclude certain conditions.

Supplemental coverage can affordably fill in the gaps of a group policy and literally extend coverage up to 100% of regular income. In addition, benefits from a supplemental policy are not taxable because you, not your employer, pay the small premium.

Income insurance was an afterthought, to tell you the truth. I was more concerned about life insurance. But, in the end, the income insurance is what kept us from having problem, Dr. Birdwell emphasizes.

A young mom needs all the help she can get, especially single working moms. Being a single mom means your paycheck is how the bills get paid. Losing that paycheck during an illness or injury can be catastrophic. An affordable income insurance policy can provide cash flow when you can’t work, and deliver single mothers help when they need it most.

Minimizing Working Mothers’ Sacrifices: The Power of Making Money Online

Before the start of WWII, women traditionally didn’t work outside the home. But, once the U.S. entered WWII, the government realized they needed a larger workforce to build supplies needed to fight the war. Since a large number of our country’s men were over seas serving in the war, the U.S. government began a campaign to recruit women into the work force.

Over the decades, more and more women have gone to work; some out of necessity and others out of a need to do for themselves without being dependent on a man for their needs and wants. But, the same women who now work in all types of jobs and professions are the same women who are, and who want to be, mothers. Because of this duality, many women are forced to make sacrifices that affect areas of their professional and personal lives.

They often have to choose between spending time with their children, or making the money they need to pay the bills. And because the bills have to get paid, this sometimes means working mothers miss out on important events in their children’s lives like sports games and school performances. And, when mothers have to be home with their children due to an illness, or for any of the other reasons that keep mothers home with their children, working mothers sacrifice the money they’d make that day; putting a financial strain on the family.

It’s because of these major sacrifices that many women today are choosing to work from home; making money on the internet. Working from home and making money on the internet allows working mothers the freedom to not have to make so many sacrifices. Making money on the internet allows them to be home with their children at all times, while earning the money needed to support their families.

As technology continues to advance, making money on the internet becomes easier and easier. The profitable opportunities for a home business that’s run entirely from a virtual office on the internet are limitless. There are tons of people making money on the internet through online auctions, creating websites for people, helping businesses market their products and services, and many more.

If a woman wants, or needs, to work while raising a family, making money on the internet is definitely high on the list of ways to earn a living. This isn’t to say that making money on the internet will totally eliminate the sacrifices working mothers have to make because it won’t. Making money on the internet from the comfort of one’s own home has its definite advantages, but it’s a job like any other job and the work has to get done if the money is going to be made.

What making money on the internet does do is offer working mothers the ability to be in control of when they work and for how long. If a child has a baseball game on Saturday and the mother wants to go, she can put in a few extra hours making money on the internet on Friday night and not have to worry on Saturday morning about asking her boss for permission to leave work a few hours early.

Or, if a child wakes up in the morning and is too ill to go to school, the working mother who’s making money on the internet can sped a couple hours taking the child to the doctor and making him comfortable so he can get the rest he needs. Then she can work while he’s resting while still being completely available to tend to his needs all throughout the day.

Because women are the only means of birthing children, there will always be sacrifices they have to make if they want to be a mother and want, or need, to make a living of their own. But, the minimization of those sacrifices is a definite plus that should encourage working mothers to look into all the options when it comes to making money on the internet.

Single Mothers

When one is growing up, especially the girls, we all think of how we are going to bring up happy families with loving husbands by our side. Most of the time this is far from the truth. No one ever gets prepared enough to become a single mother. Being a single mother myself, I know pretty well the struggles one goes thru every day trying to raise a baby on there own. Its not the worst thing that can ever happen to you but there are emotional struggles on the way. This is especially if you had not planned to be a single mother. The guy ditched you. When this happens and probably you were in love, you feel betrayed and very lonely. You wonder if you can ever be able to love the product of such betrayal. It is not easy carrying a pregnancy and at the same time dealing with rejection. This can cause serious health problems not only to you but to the baby too. You need friends and the most important person to carry you through, God. When this happened to me, I thought it was the end of the world. I did not have a job. I had no idea of how I could ever get through with the pregnancy on my own. God chose this time to reveal his true self to me. It was not easy for me to forgive and let go but with the power of God, I did it. Forgiving the father of my baby opened a door for me and my daughter to have a real relationship. Sometimes we feel that the man has hurt as so badly that we cannot forgive him. Jesus understands all the emotions we go through here on earth as he lived in it as a man too. When you go to him and ask for his help in dealing with the situation he will. Do not let the hurt of a broken relationship affect your relationship with your child. That child is very innocent. It is a gift from God. It has nothing to do with whatever happened. I remember telling God that I do not want anything in my baby that will remind me of the man. Funny enough the baby has no resemblance with the man though it does not matter now since God has helped me get over the hurt. He can do the same to you. Allow him to.

Time Management For Working Mothers

How often have you walked in the door and find stacks of paper floating around your desk? And when you go home, you still have trouble finding those important documents you need so desperately. How many times have you return home after a long day at work only to find yourself in arguments with your spouse? On top of that, the kids are ignoring you because you have not spent sufficient time with them?
If these are familiar scenes in your life – have you ever wondered why? Good time management could be the solution to your situation! Being a working mother is a big job and carries a lot of responsibilities. Hence when you neglect in planning your time, everything will turn topsy-turvy.
It is not an easy task to stay organized when we face busy work schedules, family obligations and loads of other responsibilities. Traditionally, many people would store files in a filing cabinet, and clean their rooms and desks once every week. However, there are many others who are of the spontaneous type. Some of us even store documents so that they are out of sight and soon find those documents are out of mind, until someone calls their attention to the papers.
Good time management is the key to successfully balancing your career with motherhood. Take for example, if you shop for groceries once a week, you can cut back time by buying enough to last longer, so that grocery shopping is not part of your weekly plan. The extra hour or more that you spend at the supermarket can now be spent on quality time with the family. This is just one of many solutions to managing your time, but it is certainly a start.
In addition, you can make up a list of your duties and have them prioritized so that you can work through the list by starting with the most important task. I found this to be a great solution for managing time because when you work hard to complete one task, the rest fall into place with ease. If you are spending an hour or more in front of a mirror, it is probably because you are not feeling good about yourself. It takes not more than fifteen minutes to put on make-up so to stand in front of the mirror longer than necessary is only taking up time.
Hair is definitely an important aspect of a person as it sets an impression. However, if you find yourself spending a longer than necessary time styling your hair each morning, then perhaps you should try another hairstyle that is less complicated. This would also contribute greatly to good time management solutions. Clothing should be limited but appropriate for whatever that you are doing and typically it should not take more than a couple of minutes to get dressed. Unless you are a model, or actress, overdressing is not advisable in most cases of everyday life situations. If you are spending extra time preparing meals, you might want to check out various quick and healthy menus which are readily available online.
Well, above are just some of the many time management tips which you can start to apply as a working mother. It is always good to start slow and fine tune along the way.

Dealing And Coping With Being A Stay At Home Mother

Ask any woman who’s had a baby and they’ll tell you it is the most rewarding experience of their lives. However, after months and months of spending your entire day with an infant, you begin to feel as though you are losing touch with the adult world, particularly if you are accustomed to a fast-paced work life.Nowadays, many women put their careers first and wait until later in life to bear children. This transition from professional work to home life can be a surprisingly difficult transition. For most women, staying at home is about as different from their previous careers as you can imagine. Life at home can also be a shock because so many professional women never thought they’d end up there, couple that with the disappearance of the “extended family” and many stay-at-home-moms deal with feeling lonely. After losing their colleagues at work, women often feel friendless and alone as they get used to their new job at home. Unless an effort is made to get out and meet people, mothers at home face days on end with no one to talk to but young, uncommunicative children. Without regular adult interaction, stay-at-home mothers may also feel as though they are losing their edge. Others may sense their intellect is slipping away from a lack of use. In some cases, isolation can make mothers feel so psychologically depleted they find it hard to cope with anything. When you spend every waking moment of every day with your kids, the quantity of time you spend with them actually diminishes the quality of the time you get to share with them. I discovered that one profitable way to channel my energy was to start my own online business selling high-quality children’s clothing. I was amazed at how this process helped to keep my mind sharp which in turn improved the quality of time I spent with my children. After spending several months developing a website and locating a supplier Best Dressed Tots became a reality. Here are 6 Tips to Help Maintain Your Sanity:1. Find a project to help channel some of your energy to keep your mindsharp. (This is the most important tip!) This will improve the quality of time you spend with your family.2. Enroll into a course or class of interest. Taking a business class or seminar at your local college or community center can help sharpen your skills and provide the interaction you need to stay productive. Look into online options if getting out of the house is impossible.3. Join a local gym or find a mother-toddler exercise class to help maintain your physical health. Exercise is crucial to your overall well being and will help break up the monotony of a long day home with the kids.4. Stay connected by creating a blog. Today thousands of women write blogs that pivot on a variety of subjects. Blogging about your new experiences as a mother is a great way to express your thoughts and opinions.5. Check into the events being held at your local library. Many local libraries offer a variety of classes, seminars, and shows for mothers and children to attend. You’ll be surprised at the range and quality of events your library may have available for free!6. Occupy yourself with journal writing. This simple practice only requires a pencil and a notepad and will provide you with endless benefits.
